As your kids get older and siblings come into the mix it gets so much harder to manage one on one time with them.
You squeeze in little moments when you can but usually life gets busy, you all fall into bed in a heap and wake up the next morning to do it all again.
I mentioned this to a friend of mine once who was expecting her 4th child. She told me about a friend of hers who used her kids birthdays as a monthly (not yearly) opportunity for some special one on one time.
How it works
Ok, let’s just say your little ones birthday is on the 12th of March.
Every month, on the 12th of the month, they’ll get some special one-on-one time.
Now it doesn’t have to be anything over the top.
We’re not talking about movie or dinner dates, or though I think dinner dates are the sweetest idea going and feel super special.
It might be as simple as having a milkshake at a cafe together or even just cooking dinner together. It’s just time without any other noise. Where they get to feel super special.
It's not just on you either. The date might be with dad or mum, it doesn't matter, which parent it is. The main point is it's just about them.
I’m not perfect at this but I figure if I make it happen even every other month it’s a win.
