You start with the best intentions. Today is the day you’re going to get it together, no more clothes piling up on the bathroom and bedroom floors.
You load up the washing machine with the first load and head off to start on another job. You’ve totally got this.
Then you hear it. It’s only faint but you’d know that sound anywhere……
You take a breath and head off to find out what’s wrong. It’s another ‘crisis’, you sort it then it’s time for homework, then dinner, then lunches for the next day and you eventually collapse into bed.
It’s not until you’re downing your double shot latte the next morning that you remember the washing. 🤦🏻♀️
Now you’re stuck with that horrible smell of damp clothes that’s even worse once it’s dry and it just won’t budge.
So what can you use to shift it that ‘wet washing’ or ‘whopops I left the gym clothes in the same bag overnight’ smell?
White vinegar (and no, it won’t make them smell like a family bag of Salt’n’Vin chips).
Just add a cup to your washing. You’ll still want to add the washing detergent too.
If you need something a little more intense, soak them in the sink or a clean tub with one cup of white vinegar diluted in cold water. Leave them there for about 15 to 30 minutes, then wash them as normal in the washing machine.
The vinegar smell rinses out in the wash and the clothes smell as good as new. ✨
